Great site, just a few small recommendations for the Recommendation section.
When searching for Similar fittings allow us to see the members foot size (just like in the optional fitting section) to help us work out sizing.
Secondly, when I search in optimal fittings everyone has a smaller foot than me. Perhaps expand the criteria and allow it to also show slightly larger feet so we can work out some middle ground.

Concerning your first suggestion: Please e-mail me if there's a pair of shoes you are particularly interested in. I'd like to do this manually, first. For I doubt that it will be useful to you.
The 'Similar fittings' method works by using size and rating differences. You may get a recommendation because of someone's ratings about shoes in size 6, or 12, or something in between. If the other person(s) provided measurements, at all, these measurements are likely to be quite different to yours.
Concerning your second suggestion: It is probably just a coincidence. For there's nothing in the code that favors other people with slightly smaller feet. It does favor shoes in sizes that would be optimal for your foot length, though. Maybe, that's the reason for your observations.
But I'll look into it, and get back to you.
